WordPress dev wanted for scottberkun.com

(Update: developer found. thanks.)

The design here at stage.scottberkun.com/ is old and crusty, much like I am. At least the website is easy to fix. Ha ha ha.

I’ve been working on a new design for the site and it has come together nicely. What I need is a WordPress developer to both implement the design and handle all the little details to ensure a smooth transition for all the existing content here (1300 posts + 100 pages + dozens of rambles).

I’m looking for a WordPress developer, or shop, who has:

  • Craftsman like detail for implementing UI
  • Passion for getting the little things right
  • Experience w/ annoyances of migrating a popular, high content blog to a new design

Leave a comment if you’re interested – make sure to include a link to your portfolio.  Cheers.

  1. Hi Scott,

My studio would be interested in bidding on this project.

We have a lot of experience with the WordPress platform, and are especially focused on User Experience design and identity development. We have built over 200 websites in the past 5 years, and are a big fan of your writing. Let’s make it happen!

Reach out to me if you are interested in pushing the conversation forward!

    Matt

  2. Hey Scott,

@PhilSimon told me to this. Some Author sites I’ve done:

    Nikos Acuna, Mindshare: http://mindsharebook.com
    Kevin Pyle: http://kevincpyle.com
Nicholas Wade, The Faith Instinct: http://www.nicholas-wade.com

    Other work:
    http://umojawa.com
    http://tiferetjournal.com

I build only with WordPress, and using custom fields and content types I build em so every bit of content on your site whether it be a testimonial, home page content or simple quotes are as easy to add and edit as a wordpress post or page. Let me know if you’d like to chat.

  4. I’ll throw our name in the ring here at Vuurr. You’re going to be swamped with responses, but I’m sure that we can help in more ways than just the development side of things when you’re ready. Having WP core contributors, WordCamp organizers, and plug in maintainers on the team can’t hurt though.

  6. Hi Scott,

Skyhook Marketing would love to take a look at your project. Our team is not too big or small and consists of designers, WordPress devs and search engine folks who make sure our projects are executed flawlessly from each of those perspectives. I was the lead organizer of WCPHX 2012 and we’ve worked on probably 300+ WordPress sites over the last 5 years.

    Best,

  8. It’s absolutely stunning the sheer number of people who cannot follow the simple instructions Scott was asking for with regards to a link to your work. I wouldn’t hire any the folks who couldn’t follow one simple instruction from the get go. What a huge red flag.

  9. Hey there

Seems like you’re site needs an upgrade into the new responsive era. We’d love to make a difference for you in this process, and I believe our portfolio speaks for itself.

We are a mixed online team of Danish designers and project managers, and Filipino hard-boiled coders, ensuring you the best solution at an affordable price.

Please take a look at our portfolio, and let us know your design preferences and budget requirements – and we will take a look as soon as possible, and pitch you a free quote.

  10. I’d be interested in your project–not only do I do WP development, but I’m a tech writer and have enjoyed reviewing a few of your books: http://designorati.com/?s=Scott%20Berkun

You can see my portfolio at http://jeremyschultz.com, but a lot of it is print design, art and poetry. I usually provide custom portfolios to web clients based on their goals. Here’s some WP sites I have built:

    – Anything at http://www.parents.com/blog (Parents Magazine)
    – http://www.bhg.com/blogs/centsational-style (Better Homes & Gardens)
    – http://www.fitnessmagazine.com/blogs/fitstop/

All the blogs involved content import of some kind, particularly the Parents blogs, some of which were migrated from popular blogs. Let me know if you have questions. Thanks!

    Jeremy

  11. Scott –

We’d love the opportunity to work with you.
